Only a Mustard Seed exists because kids in foster care shouldn't have to skip the small things that make a childhood feel like one. Between new placements, courtrooms, and new homes, birthdays can easily get lost in the shuffle. We partner with county child welfare agencies across Alabama to make sure that doesn't happen, providing birthday cakes and celebration supplies to children in their care, at no cost to the county or the family.
It's a small thing to give, but for a kid whose world has been turned upside down, it can be a reminder that they're seen and worth celebrating. Like the tiny mustard seed our name comes from, we're starting small in Blount County, with our sights set on growing into every corner of the state.
